A Handbook for the Afterlife shortlisted in the Michael Marks Awards

So exciting! My pamphlet, winner of one of Templar Poetry’s portfolio competitions joins a cracking shortlist of those by Fiona Moore, Camille Ralphs, Richard Scott and Lizzie Thistlethwaite for this fantastic prize. I put a lot of love into this pamphlet, and it is the fate of pamphlets that they often pass through the literary world unnoticed, the love and craft that goes into collections four, five times their size unseen. It is perhaps the purest writing there is. More than any other kind of published work, the pamphlet is made completely for its own sake, because hardly anyone may know about it.

But not this time!! I’m so thrilled that more people will read the poems I worked so hard on and love so much. You can see a poem from Handbook via this link on the Wordsworth Trust’s website, along with poems from the other shortlisted poets.

Thank you to Templar Poetry for the wonderful production. They are shortlisted in the Publisher category for the Award, which is recognition much deserved.
